Remote Control for the Equipment You Can't Just Unplug

Not everything plugs into a wall outlet. The PowerTend Relay is built for hardwired equipment — HVAC systems, integrated scent machines, fans, and other fixed installations that need remote on/off control without a full automation overhaul.

Wired inline and powered by a DC input signal (5–30 VDC), the Relay switches AC loads up to 250 VAC at 10A. Pair it with the IntelliTend app for remote control and scheduling, and with the SecureSend Gateway for cellular connectivity (requires service plan) that stays off your corporate network.

What You Get at Launch

  • Remote On/Off Switching — Control hardwired AC equipment remotely through the IntelliTend app or web dashboard. No more sending a tech just to flip a relay.
  • Automated Scheduling — Set schedules that align with facility hours, occupancy patterns, or service windows. Daily, weekly, or custom programming.
  • Connection Status Confirmation — Verify the relay is online and communicating through the app for basic operational peace of mind.
  • HVAC & Scent System Control — Purpose-built for the initial use case of controlling HVAC-integrated scent machines. Enable facility managers and scent service providers to manage fragrance delivery remotely — confirm it's running, schedule it precisely, and eliminate unnecessary site visits.
  • Dual Wireless Connectivity — BLE and WiFi on board, with full SecureSend Gateway compatibility for cellular deployments (requires service plan).

What's Coming Next

  • Scent diffuser schedule synchronization — automatically align Relay schedules with the scent diffuser to optimize fan run times and maximize the scent experience
  • Expanded use cases for additional hardwired equipment types beyond HVAC and scent systems
  • Use Case: On/off switching for hardwired equipment; HVAC and scent system control
  • Wiring: Serial (hardwired inline)
  • Control Voltage: 1–250 VAC
  • Input Voltage: 5–30 VDC
  • Maximum Current: 10A
  • Wireless: BLE, WiFi
  • Cellular Gateway: Compatible (via SecureSend Gateway, requires service plan)
  • Monitoring: Connection status confirmation
  • Control: Remote on/off, automated scheduling
  • Platform: BlueStreak IntelliTend (AWS-hosted PaaS)

Commercial Scent Systems (HVAC-Integrated) — The primary launch use case. Control the fan systems that deliver scent in hotels, casinos, retail spaces, and fitness facilities. Schedule operation, confirm status, and manage fragrance delivery without site visits.

HVAC Component Control — Manage relay-controlled HVAC components remotely, coordinating operation with facility schedules and occupancy.

Air Quality Equipment — Control hardwired air purification or ventilation equipment that operates on relay switching.

Remote Equipment Cycling — Power-cycle hardwired equipment to resolve issues without dispatching a technician.

  • What's the difference between the Plug and the Relay?
The PowerTend Plug is for standard 120V plug-in equipment — it goes between the wall outlet and the device's power cord. The Relay is for hardwired equipment that doesn't have a plug, like HVAC systems and integrated scent machines. The Relay requires a DC input voltage (5–30 VDC) and switches AC loads up to 250 VAC.
  • Does the Relay monitor power consumption?
No. The Relay provides remote on/off control, scheduling, and connection status confirmation. Power monitoring capabilities are on our roadmap for future PowerTend product family releases.
  • Can any electrician install this?
The PowerTend Relay is a hardwired device and should be installed by a qualified electrician or trained technician in accordance with local electrical codes.
  • Does this work with any scent system?
The Relay is designed to control the HVAC fan component of integrated scent delivery systems. Compatibility depends on the electrical configuration of the specific system. Contact BlueStreak for guidance on your installation.
  • Can I pair this with the SecureSend Gateway?
Yes. The Relay communicates via BLE and WiFi with local devices and is fully compatible with the SecureSend Gateway for standalone cellular connectivity (requires service plan).
